Biography
Originally from Michigan, I’ve carved a unique path that blends my passion for advocacy, creativity, and resilience. My journey has been filled with challenges and triumphs that have shaped who I am today. Growing up, I faced significant hardships, including my parents’ divorce and challenging family dynamics. Despite these challenges, I found strength in my experiences and used them to fuel my passion for advocacy and creativity.
In 2009, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where I built a commendable career in the medical field. However, due to ongoing harassment from an online influencer, I made the difficult decision to leave the medical profession to protect my safety and well-being.
I’ve been a fan of Britney Spears since her debut, and my admiration for her strength and artistry has significantly influenced my journey. My grandmother, who I was very close to, used to buy me all my Britney memorabilia. She would gift me Britney items for my birthday and Christmas. She worked at a grocery store and once gave me a Pepsi Britney Spears cardboard standup. Whenever Britney did an interview or had a performance, she would record it on VHS so we could watch it together. These moments were precious to me, as they were a way for my grandma and me to bond. I cherish these memories deeply, and my grandmother’s support is something I miss and grieve frequently.
The name “BKSTYL3” originated from a Destiny’s Child music video when a friend called me out as a teenager, a name I have embraced ever since. Through all the challenges I faced, I have remained dedicated to my advocacy and creative endeavors. These experiences strengthened my resolve to support others facing similar issues and to continue creating vibrant and dynamic content.
Journey: The Creation of BKSTYL3
Despite the challenges and threats to my employment, I channeled my energy and creativity into something powerful and transformative: BKSTYL3. This platform serves as a vibrant expression of my identity and a haven for those who share my vision. BKSTYL3 was born out of the desire to create a unique purgatorial space that celebrates individuality, pride, and self-expression.
Inspirations
My inspirations stem from my rich experiences and the adversities I have faced. My work is influenced by the themes of pride, resilience, and advocacy, which are evident in the vibrant and dynamic content I create. Through BKSTYL3, I aim to inspire others to embrace their true selves and stand strong against adversity.
Britney Spears was also a major influence in my early interest in web development. As a child, I would visit Britney Spears fan sites and be inspired to create my own on Yahoo Geocities. This early exposure sparked my interest in web development and technology. Additionally, I have a broad love for all kinds of music, though I’m not a big fan of country music, with a few exceptions of artists whose songs I enjoy.
The Gay Demon
I started calling myself a “gay demon” as a response to the harassment I faced. This concept is a satirical and parodic reference to Dante’s Inferno, reflecting the absurdity and surreal nature of the harassment I endured. My experiences with anti-LGBTQ programs further fueled this persona, turning a negative situation into a powerful symbol of defiance and resilience.
I have faced significant harassment, both online and in person, leading to severe distress and safety concerns for me. Despite this, I have remained committed to my advocacy and creative endeavors. The challenges I faced only strengthened my resolve to support others facing similar issues and to continue creating vibrant and dynamic content.
